Carver High School of Engineering & Science extends road winning streak to five

Recap: Carver High School of Engineering & Science vs. Central Lancers

Carver High School of Engineering & Science had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 63-50 victory over Central. Given Carver High School of Engineering & Science's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Central is ranked 571st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Samir Roberts-mouzon out in front who scored nine points along with three steals. Roberts-mouzon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Brown, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, Central saw an underclassman step up: Yamir Knight-parker scored 16 points. Knight-parker is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Brown, who scored 11 points.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science will be playing in front of their home fans against Vaux Big Picture at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Central, they will head out on the road to take on George Washington at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully George Washington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
