Baseball Game Preview: Gateway College Preparatory Gators vs. Burnet Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Gateway College Preparatory will face off against Burnet. The Gators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Gateway College Preparatory came up short against Burnet and fell 13-8.

Justus Franke and Andres Garza-Gongora stepped up to the plate in a big way. Franke got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run, while Garza-Gongora went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Partlow, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

The victory (which was Burnet's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gateway College Preparatory, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
