Volleyball Game Preview: Skyridge Falcons vs. Madison Bobcats

Skyridge hasn't had much luck against Madison recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will take on the Bobcats at 3:30 p.m.

Skyridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Corner Canyon, who was ranked fourth at the time (Skyridge was ranked first). The Falcons fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss was the Falcons' first of the season.

Skyridge took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 24-26, 28-26, 15-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Madison strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Highland as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Madison took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-9, 25-13.

Skyridge better keep an eye on Aspen Boice. She was instrumental in Madison's win, getting 19 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Boice has posted over her last six contests.

Skyridge's loss dropped their record down to 18-1. As for Madison, their win bumped their record up to 24-0.

Skyridge might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Madison in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
