Baseball Recap: Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley won against Ogilvie on Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Wolves walked away with a 7-2 win over the Laporte Wildcats. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won five games in a row.

Gavin Swanson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Swanson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Skyler Westphal, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Bradley Hasse was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Laporte, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
