Blue Mountain had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Selinsgrove Seals as Blue Mountain made off with a 14-4 win. The Eagles are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 23 straight dating back to last season.
Chloe Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emmerson Frie, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Carla Boyer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Blue Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Selinsgrove only posted a batting average of .211.
Blue Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 25-3 victory against Governor Mifflin on the 20th. As for Selinsgrove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 19-9 win against Juniata on the 19th.
