Recap: Hesperia Christian Patriots vs. Silver Valley Trojans
The Hesperia Christian Patriots were the 73-33 winner over the Silver Valley Trojans when they last played one another back in January of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Hesperia Christian was outmatched by Silver Valley on the road and fell 65-35. While losing is never fun, Hesperia Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1059th, while Silver Valley is ranked 380th).
When it comes to explaining why Hesperia Christian lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Arlan Koester. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. The match was Koester's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Alfonzo, who scored 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Hesperia Christian and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Silver Valley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Hesperia Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Boron at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boron is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Silver Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Academy of Careers & Exploration at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
