Basketball Recap: Avant Garde Academy Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Avant Garde Academy extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Landon Guzman. Everything went the Avant Garde Academy Sharks' way against the Scheck Hillel Community School Lions on Monday as the Avant Garde Academy Sharks made off with a 74-52 victory thanks in part to Guzman, who went 8 for 11 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gerard Martinez, who posted seven points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Avant Garde Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Scheck Hillel Community School, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avant Garde Academy and Sports Leadership & Management will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Avant Garde Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Scheck Hillel Community School will take on Don Soffer Aventura in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
