Basketball Recap: Cadyn Sanchez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Payson over San Tan Foothills

Payson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost to the San Tan Foothills Sabercats on the road by a 61-44 margin.

Payson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cadyn Sanchez, who posted nine points. Sanchez is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Landon Hansen was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for San Tan Foothills, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Payson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-53 victory against Bourgade Catholic on the 9th. As for San Tan Foothills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Benjamin Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Benjamin Franklin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season.
