Baseball Game Preview: Hutchison Hawks vs. Monroe Catholic Rams

Hutchison is 0-10 against Monroe Catholic since May of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Rams at 6:00 p.m.

Hutchison is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season last Saturday. They came up short against Monroe Catholic, falling 26-9.

For Monroe Catholic's part, they got a massive performance out of Brian Bast, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Bast has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Snow, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Monroe Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Monroe Catholic pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hutchison, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Hutchison might still be hurting after the 26-9 defeat they got from Monroe Catholic in their previous matchup last Saturday. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
