Softball Game Preview: Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack vs. Miami Christian Victors

The Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack will face off against the Miami Christian Victors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Schoolhouse Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Academy for Innovative Education. Winning may never get old, but the Wolfpack sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Samantha Torres looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Valeria Vazquez was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Angelly Benitez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Schoolhouse Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Miami Christian never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Westminster Academy 7-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Victors.

Schoolhouse Prep's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Miami Christian, their record now sits at 15-8.

Schoolhouse Prep skirted past Miami Christian 10-9 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Victors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
