It was a good run, but Colonie Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Niskayuna Silver Warriors. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wolfpack were not able to get on the board.

Riley Brooks was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

Colonie Central's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Niskayuna, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Coming up, Colonie Central will head out on the road to challenge Shaker at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Niskayuna, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against South Glens Falls at 11:00 a.m. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
