Volleyball Preview: Joseph City Wildcats vs. Anthem Prep Eagles
The Joseph City Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Anthem Prep Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Joseph City is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Ash Fork just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 25-21 in the first set.
Joseph City took Ash Fork into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 11-25, 25-13, 15-9.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sahzira Schoby, who had seven digs and two aces. She has been hot , having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydiana Kinlicheenie, who had 11 digs and two aces.
Even though they lost, Joseph City was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Anthem Prep didn't have quite enough to beat North Phoenix Preparatory Academy on Saturday and fell 3-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Gladiators recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Joseph City's record now sits at 12-19. As for Anthem Prep, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-9.
