Basketball Recap: West Charlotte Comes Up Short

West Charlotte was the 65-53 winner over Hough when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The West Charlotte Lions fell to the Hough Huskies 45-40. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, West Charlotte still got an impressive performance from Chase Bryson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Bryson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Christian Coleman, who posted eight points and three steals.

Hough's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Otto, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Otto is becoming a predictor of Hough's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 7-3 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Judah Freeman was another key player, going 6 for 10 to rack up 15 points.

West Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Hough, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10.

West Charlotte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-69 win against Harding University on the 7th. As for Hough, they have also already played their next game, a 47-41 victory against Mallard Creek on the 7th.
