Cranston East comes up short despite Mya Jiminez's dominant performance

Recap: Cranston East Thunderbolts vs. Mount St. Charles Academy Mounties

The Cranston East Thunderbolts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 51-29 defeat at the hands of Mount St. Charles Academy. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Cranston East struggled afterwards.

Despite the loss, Cranston East still got an impressive performance from Mya Jiminez, who scored 13 points.

Addie Stojanowski had a dynamite game for Mount St. Charles Academy, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Roberts, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Cranston East has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Mount St. Charles Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Cranston East won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Johnston at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. The timing is sure in Johnston's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Cranston East has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Mount St. Charles Academy will take on Mt. Pleasant at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Pleasant is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
