Basketball Recap: Cloudcroft Piles Up the Points Against Carrizozo

Cloudcroft won the last time they faced Carrizozo and things went their way on Monday too. The Cloudcroft Bears took their game with ease, bagging a 68-37 victory over the Carrizozo Grizzlies. With that win, the Bears brought their scoring average up to 51.4 points per game.

Rylee Pahl was his usual excellent self, going 18 of 32 on his way to 42 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Thompkins, who dropped a double-double on 12 boards and 13 assists.

Cloudcroft was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory got Cloudcroft back to even at 5-5. As for Carrizozo, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cloudcroft will head out to face off against Animas at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cloudcroft is facing Animas at the right time seeing as Animas is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Carrizozo, they will face off against Mountainair at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
