Soccer Recap: Shawano Community Comes Up Short

If Shawano Community was feeling good fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Green Bay West on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks came up short against the Kiel Raiders on Saturday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Shawano Community can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Kiel are ranked 45th).

Shawano Community's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for Kiel, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawano Community will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marinette at 6:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Kiel, they will take on Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
