Basketball Game Preview: Cozad Haymakers vs. Adams Central Patriots

It was another big night for Noah Shoemaker, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Olliver Davis, who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Cozad was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambridge only racked up eight assists.

Meanwhile, Adams Central had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 68-60 victory over the Panthers.

Cozad better focus on containing Hunter Nepple and Austin Vontz as the pair were huge in Adams Central's win. Nepple posted 29 points, while Vontz put up 25 points. Those 25 points gave Vontz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Foster, who posted six points.

Adams Central pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Cozad, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Cozad and Adams Central are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Cozad hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 66.2 points per game. However, it's not like Adams Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 60.3 points.
