The West Jefferson Roughriders will take on the Eastern Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Jefferson will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
West Jefferson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Grandview Heights as they made off with a 24-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Roughriders, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jenna Mannon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Hailey McBrayer was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025. Mia Burgett was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
West Jefferson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Eastern ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Portsmouth West 4-3.
Like West Jefferson, Eastern also got a great game from a two-way player: Leah Rader. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over eight innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Rader was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braelyn Bevins, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
West Jefferson's record is now 22-5. As for Eastern, their record now sits at 21-7.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Jefferson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Eastern struggles in that department as they've averaged .462. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
