Basketball Recap: Cedaredge's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to 21

Cedaredge had won 20 straight games and Carley Malinowski did her part to make it 21 on Tuesday. The Cedaredge Bruins enjoyed a cozy 45-26 win over the Plateau Valley Cowboys with plenty of help from Malinowski, who posted 20 points along with five boards and four steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Hanson, who scored nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Plateau Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Macy Bevan had ten points along with eight boards and six blocks. That was a full 38.5% of Plateau Valley's points, marking the fifth time in a row Bevan has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Cedaredge's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.1 points. As for Plateau Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 15-6 record.

Cedaredge has already played their next contest, a 54-31 win against Thomas MacLaren School on the 28th. As for Plateau Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-17 victory against North Park on the 1st.
