Softball Game Preview: Kiona-Benton Bears vs. Cashmere Bulldogs

Kiona-Benton is 0-4 against Cashmere since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Bears will host the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kiona-Benton comes in on three and Cashmere on six.

While Kiona-Benton's win against Naches Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Rangers 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since March 25th.

Meanwhile, Cashmere hadn't done well against Cle Elum-Roslyn recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cashmere pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Kiona-Benton, their win bumped their record up to 10-7-1.
