Recap: Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones vs. Anderson County Mavericks
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 21-7 to Anderson County. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, Elizabethton couldn't push the score so high this time.
Rhett Slagle threw for 238 yards on 19 of 37 attempts. Jeriah Griffin was his top target, picking up 96 receiving yards.
Elizabethton's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Anderson County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Elizabethton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Anderson County will take on Greeneville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greeneville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
