Softball Game Preview: Sioux Falls Christian Chargers vs. Beresford Watchdogs

The Sioux Falls Christian Chargers will take on the Beresford Watchdogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Sioux Falls Christian came up short against Vermillion and fell 7-4. The Chargers have struggled against the Tanagers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Sioux Falls Christian got a good showing from Jada Roskup, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Roskup has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dehlia Doop-Blanchard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Nelson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Beresford faced Alcester-Hudson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Watchdogs fell 8-5 to the Cubs. The Watchdogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sioux Falls Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Beresford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
