Basketball Game Preview: Lakota Raiders vs. Calvert Senecas

The Lakota Raiders will challenge the Calvert Senecas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Lakota earned a 47-40 win over Hopewell-Loudon.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvert). They enjoyed a cozy 70-54 victory over Mohawk on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Senecas sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Lakota has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Calvert, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Lakota might still be hurting after the 56-36 defeat they got from Calvert when the teams last played back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Calvert's Alyssa Rishty, who posted 24 points. Now that Lakota knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time?
