Soccer Recap: Mt. Zion Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Mt. Zion has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They came up short against the Champaign Central Maroons on Saturday, falling 4-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mt. Zion came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Champaign Central are ranked 209th).

Mt. Zion's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Champaign Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Zion will square off against Williamsville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Champaign Central, they will challenge Richwoods at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
