Volleyball Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Model Secondary School for the Deaf had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 7-8 to make it five. They came up short against the Jackson-Reed Tigers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since September 11th.

As for Jackson-Reed, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Jackson-Reed found their leader in freshman Layla Hernandez, who had 11 digs and seven aces. Those seven aces set a new season-high mark for Hernandez. Another player making a difference was Tyaja James, who had eight assists and four aces.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Model Secondary School for the Deaf will square off against Chapelgate Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson-Reed, they will welcome Dunbar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
