Football Game Preview: Oroville vs. Soap Lake

Oroville will challenge Soap Lake on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Oroville are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the match prepared for a fight.

If Oroville were riding high off their 64-33 takedown of Liberty Bell two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Last Friday, Oroville lost to Manson by a decisive 18-38 margin. Oroville got a solid performance out of junior Seth Baugher, who caught passes for 146 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. In fact, with 10 tackles Baugher was a force on both sides of the ball.

Meanwhile, their game wasn't at all kind to Soap Lake, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. They made easy work of Yakama Nation Tribal and carried off a 42-16 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Soap Lake's victory lifted them to 1-1 while Oroville's defeat dropped them down to 1-1. The Oroville defense got after the quarterback against Manson to the tune of 4 sacks, so Soap Lake's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the game.
