Softball Recap: Navajo Prep Triumphs

Navajo Prep's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Rehoboth Christian Lynx. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Lynx on Tuesday, they had to take a 18-10 loss.

The team relied heavily on Amia Salazar, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Isabella Yazzie was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Navajo Prep's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Rehoboth Christian, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Navajo Prep will host Newcomb at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Skyhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.77 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rehoboth Christian, they will take on Northwest at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
