Baseball Game Preview: David Douglas Scots vs. Nelson

David Douglas hasn't had much luck against Nelson recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Scots will face off against Nelson at 5:00 p.m. David Douglas has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

David Douglas couldn't beat Sandy on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Scots lost 18-6 to the Pioneers.

David Douglas saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Tariq Golden also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Nelson fell victim to Clackamas and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 6-0. That's two games in a row now that Nelson has lost by exactly six runs.

David Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Nelson, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

David Douglas might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Nelson when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Scots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
