Baseball Recap: Phoenix Christian Victorious

Phoenix Christian extended their postseason success on Saturday against San Tan Charter. They had just enough and edged out the Roadrunners 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since April 1st.

The team relied heavily on Xavier Gutierrez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

The victory made it two in a row for Phoenix Christian and bumps their season record up to 23-4. As for San Tan Charter, they moved to 22-2 with that loss, which also ended their 17-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Phoenix Christian will take on Veritas Prep on Friday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. San Tan Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
