Basketball Recap: Martin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Grand Prairie last Tuesday, Martin came back down to earth. The Martin Warriors took a 53-37 bruising from the Bowie Volunteers on Friday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Volunteers earlier this season, when they won 52-51.

Martin has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Bowie, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martin will welcome Haltom at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bowie, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Arlington at 6:00 p.m.
