Softball Game Preview: S & S Consolidated Rams vs. Leonard Tigers

The S & S Consolidated Rams will challenge the Leonard Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. S & S Consolidated will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Leonard's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: S & S Consolidated hadn't allowed a single run the last seven times they've hit the field. S & S Consolidated never let Howe get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Wednesday. Considering the Rams have won eight contests by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leonard). They blew past Pottsboro 23-15 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Lauren Pemberton, who fired off two home runs and ten RBI while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kallie DeBord, who went 4-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Leonard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .614. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

S & S Consolidated's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Leonard, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-17.

Everything went S & S Consolidated's way against Leonard in their previous meeting on March 3rd, as S & S Consolidated made off with a 16-0 victory. Does S & S Consolidated have another victory up their sleeve, or will Leonard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
