Recap: Holmes County Blue Devils vs. Chipley Tigers
The Holmes County Blue Devils were the 60-47 winner over the Chipley Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Holmes County took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chipley on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Holmes County had strong showings from Savannah Goodman, who scored 17 points along with two steals, and Emma Whitaker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Goodman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times she's played.
Holmes County's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Chipley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holmes County will take on Marianna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chipley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Poplar Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poplar Springs has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20.
