Basketball Recap: Dell Rapids Comes Up Short

Dell Rapids lost against Groton back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Dell Rapids Quarriers lost 67-41 to the Groton Tigers. The Quarriers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Dell Rapids lost, don't look at Jack Kloth. Despite the final result, he posted eight points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Kloth is crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Karson Paye, who earned 11 points and four steals.

Dell Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Groton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dell Rapids has already played their next contest (against Flandreau), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Groton will face off against Roncalli at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Groton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Roncalli likes a good challenge.
