Great Crossing waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Model Patriots. The result was nothing new for Great Crossing, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Zach Zinger was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zinger was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brenton Alcorn, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Caden Howland was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs.

Great Crossing always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Model only posted an OBP of .324.

Great Crossing's record is now 8-2. As for Model, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Great Crossing will head out to challenge Western Hills at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Model, they will be playing at home against Casey County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
