Baseball Recap: Fike Comes Up Short

Fike lost against C.B. Aycock back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Demons fell just short of the Golden Falcons by a score of 4-3.

Connor Spencer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Fike saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Ferrell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another was CJ Summerlin, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Fike's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for C.B. Aycock, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fike will take on Beddingfield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for C.B. Aycock, they will challenge Hunt at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Golden Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
