Basketball Game Preview: Marshwood Hawks vs. Deering Rams

The Marshwood Hawks will challenge the Deering Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marshwood has six straight wins, Deering has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Marshwood is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Biddeford, who was ranked 14th at the time (Marshwood was ranked eighth). Marshwood skirted past Biddeford 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted against the Tigers since December 12, 2017.

Meanwhile, Deering lost 48-25 to Cheverus on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly 23 points.

Marshwood's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Deering, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Marshwood strolled past Deering in their previous meeting on January 4th by a score of 55-41. Will Marshwood repeat their success, or does Deering have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
