Football Recap: Florence Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Camden Military last Friday, Florence Christian came back down to earth. The Eagles received a blow on Friday as they fell 34-15 to the Wilson Hall Barons. The Eagles have struggled against the Barons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Florence Christian lost, don't look at Brooks Poston. Despite the final result, he rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Poston's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.

Wilson Hall was led to victory by Ford Wilder and Cameron Wilsey. Wilder rushed for 109 yards and one score on only 11 carries, while Wilsey gained 71 total yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Wilsey racked up 63 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Florence Christian suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 5-2. As for Wilson Hall, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florence Christian will venture away from home to take on Northside Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wilson Hall, they will head out to square off against Thomas Sumter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
