Baseball Recap: Midland Classical Academy Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Midland Classical Academy posted their closest win since February 23, 2024 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Kermit Yellow Jackets 13-11. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Levi Bayley and Kayson West made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Bayley tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, West tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-low in hits. At bat, Bayley scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while West scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two runs gave West a new career-high.

In other batting news, Joe Dunn was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

Midland Classical Academy pushed their record up to 1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Midland Classical Academy will square off against Alpine at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Kermit, they are taking a road trip to take on Tahoka at 5:30 p.m. on February 25th.
