Football Recap: Newark Catholic Takes a Loss

Newark Catholic lost against Licking Valley back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Green Wave were dealt a 57-13 loss at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 496th, while the Panthers are ranked 135th).

This is the second loss in a row for Newark Catholic and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Licking Valley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Newark Catholic and Licking Valley will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Green Wave are set to face off against their familiar foe Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Licking Valley will challenge rival Licking Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
