Softball Recap: Hart County Raiders vs. Caverna Colonels
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hart County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Caverna Colonels 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Colonels: they've now won nine in a row.
Allie Bussell tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Bryna Cain was excellent, going 4-for-6 with one triple and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rayleigh Moon, who went 1-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Hart County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caverna only managed seven.
Hart County's victory bumped their record up to 18-13. As for Caverna, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-13 record.
Looking ahead, Hart County is taking a road trip to square off against Adair County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Caverna, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Hardin at 5:30 p.m.
