Softball Game Preview: Brewbaker Tech Rams vs. Holtville Bulldogs

Brewbaker Tech is 8-2 against Holtville since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rams will square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Brewbaker Tech turned things around against Pike Road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Patriots. Considering the Rams have won five games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brewbaker Tech got a massive performance out of Kaymarria Bandy, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave Bandy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaquayla Jarrett, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Holtville beat Decatur Heritage Christian Academy 9-4 on Wednesday.

Brewbaker Tech's record is now 6-8. As for Holtville, their record now sits at 12-9-1.

Brewbaker Tech came out on top in a nail-biter against Holtville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
