Basketball Game Preview: Victor Blue Devils vs. Newark Reds

The Victor Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Newark Reds at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Victor took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Canandaigua Academy 81-50. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Gray Wolves: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Newark came up short against Sutherland on Tuesday and fell 77-65. The loss was the Reds' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Newark fell to 5-1. As for Victor, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Victor against Newark in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as the team secured a 75-46 win. In that matchup, the Blue Devils amassed a halftime lead of 41-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
