Baseball Game Preview: Madison Golden Knights vs. Wagner Falcons

Madison is 1-7 against Wagner since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Golden Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Madison is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Brooklyn Technical, falling 6-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Wagner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Dorp. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Falcons' highest-scoring game to date.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wagner, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-4.

Madison suffered a grim 12-6 defeat to Wagner when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Golden Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
