Basketball Recap: Catasauqua's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

After flying high against Salisbury Township last Monday, Catasauqua came back down to earth. The Catasauqua Rough Riders took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saucon Valley Panthers. The Rough Riders haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Saucon Valley's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Grim, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points along with eight boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Grim a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Robertson, who posted 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.

Catasauqua's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Saucon Valley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Catasauqua will face off against Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saucon Valley, they will square off against Southern Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saucon Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
