Softball Recap: Shepaug Valley Spartans vs. Thomaston Bears

Shepaug Valley can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. Everything went their way against the Thomaston Bears as the Shepaug Valley Spartans made off with an 8-2 victory. Shepaug Valley's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Amelia Jacob made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Jacob has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than seven innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Jacob was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.

In other batting news, Shepaug Valley let Lexi Thomas and Clare Moore loose on the outfield. Thomas scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Moore scored a run while going 3-for-5.

On Thomaston's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sloan Walmsley, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Shepaug Valley pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
