Basketball Recap: Taylor Allderdice Takes a Loss

Taylor Allderdice was the 95-63 winner over Butler when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Taylor Allderdice Dragons fell to the Butler Golden Tornado 66-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Dragons still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Taylor Allderdice lost on Saturday, don't look at Lukas Stead. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Stead is now averaging an impressive 16.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Schachter, who posted 13 points and six assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Taylor Allderdice and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Butler, they moved to 6-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Taylor Allderdice and New Castle will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. New Castle will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Taylor Allderdice surely won't give up without a fight. As for Butler, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Butler's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
