Football Recap: Brookhaven Skates Past Wayne County with Ease

Brookhaven extended their postseason success on Friday against Wayne County. They claimed a resounding 42-7 win over the War EaglesLady War Eagles. Considering the Panthers have won six contests by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaden Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 102 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and three TDs. Caiden Quarles also helped out as he racked up 101 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brookhaven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

Brookhaven didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of EJ Ratliff and Tanner Hardy. Another thorn in Wayne County's side was Jeremy Bibbs, who picked up three sacks and made five total tackles.

Brookhaven's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games. As for Wayne County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Coming up, Brookhaven will take on Laurel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayne County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
