Baseball Recap: Antonito Has No Trouble Against Centennial

Antonito won the last time they faced Centennial and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Trojans put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 17-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Shyanne Martinez and Rylan Trant made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Martinez pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Trant tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Martinez went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Trant went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave Martinez a new career-high.

In other batting news, Antonito let Matthew Mascarenaz and Christopher Sanchez run wild. Mascarenaz went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Sanchez went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three hits gave Sanchez a new career-high. Octavian Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Antonito kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.8.

Antonito's record is now 3-10. As for Centennial, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.
