Recap: Putnam Vo-Tech Beavers vs. Athol Bears
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Franklin County Tech, the Putnam Vo-Tech Beavers were happy to have found some success on Monday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 51-20 win over Athol. That 31 points margin sets a new team best for Putnam Vo-Tech this season.
When it comes to explaining why Athol lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anna Duquette. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with six rebounds and five blocks. Duquette hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games.
Putnam Vo-Tech's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Athol, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Putnam Vo-Tech will take on Longmeadow at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Athol, they will head out on the road to square off against Mohawk Trail Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
