Volleyball Recap: Cabrillo Comes Up Short

Cabrillo suffered their biggest defeat since August 27th on Tuesday. They came up short against the San Luis Obispo Tigers, falling 3-0. The Conquistadores have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Cabrillo was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-22, 25-20.

Leila Kiesling paced Cabrillo's offense, picking up four kills. Kiesling got some help from Taylor Savella and her six assists. Marie Terrones controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Cabrillo now has a losing record of 9-10-1. As for San Luis Obispo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Cabrillo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Mission College Prep on the 18th. As for San Luis Obispo, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Stockdale on the 18th.
